Occurring near the town of Willits at approximately 8:10 am PDT, the quake had a depth of almost 5 miles, as reported by officials.
The seismic activity was widely felt, reaching areas such as Willits, Ukiah, Redwood Valley, San Jose, Sacramento, and even parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. Many residents received emergency alerts through earthquake warning systems while authorities closely monitored developments.
Initial assessments revealed minor damage, including cracked walls and fallen objects, and some businesses experienced temporary disruptions. Additionally, thousands of residents faced power outages as emergency crews worked to inspect infrastructure and determine the extent of the damage.
